How to Cure a Skin Fungal Infection

Fungi are microorganisms that live in different places, including the human body. They can appear for different reasons and cause different symptoms such as skin irritation and redness that can lead to infections. These infections are usually found in moist areas of our body, since these are the areas where more fungi can be found. An infection can be caused by a weak immune system or from suffering from an illness, although in most cases we contract it due to contact with various factors. Fungal infections can appear on different parts of our skin and body as well as for example our nails and scalp.

These infections produce itching and discomfort, and it's important to treat them well. In this article we explain how to cure a skin fungal infection.

Before starting, we must understand the reasons why a fungal infection can occur in our body. Causes of a fungal infection:

  • First, it is essential to have good personal hygiene, as it is one of the main causes of fungal infections.
  • A poor diet that leads to an immune system deficiency.
  • Contact with people who have a fungal infection. Fungal infections are contagious and among humans they are mostly spread through sexual intercourse.
  • Antibiotics. Antibiotics and other medicines can increase our chances of developing fungal infections by weakening our immune system.

One of the remedies that we can use to get rid of a skin fungal infection is garlic. Eating garlic on an empty stomach can be very effective as it acts as an antifungal treatment, i.e. it counteracts the fungal infection as well as preventing it from spreading. You can drink a glass of water or a little lemon juice with it.

Another option is to apply a compress with crushed garlic directly to the skin. You just need to crush a raw garlic clove, wrap it in gauze and apply over the affected area, trying to squeeze out the juice in order to soak the area.

Although it may seem like a lie, yoghurt is effective as a home remedy to cure a skin fungal infection. This is because the yogurt's ferments act as fungicides against a fungal infection. It is as simple as putting some plain yogurt onto the affected area for a while. Moreover, if you also apply a few drops of lemon, it'll work even better.

Margaret, fungus needs the right environment in which to grow. I am a soap maker (I am not trying to sell you anything because I live in Africa anyway) but I have several clients who do well with healing fungal infections by using nothing but goat milk soap on their skin, olive oil and lemon shampoo bar for their hair (also artisan made) not moisturizing with anything but SLS and paraben free aqueous cream (which is dirt cheap) and for bad flare-ups to swab the area with a well diluted Milton solution once a day (one teaspoon per cup of cooled boiled water is fine). We can easily become toxic and prone to infections when we are exposed to too many chemicals. We absorb a lot of chemicals from personal care products so avoid them. Even your deodorant can expose you to these. Consider rather using Crystal stick body Deodorant that is made of natural mineral salts and is completely free of perfumes and chemicals. Taking two tablespoons of natural yogurt before meals will also help. I wish you well.

I agree with Ulanda completely and while diluted Milton solution may be effective, I believe colloidal silver is more gentle and more effective. My uncle had fungus in the lungs and is successfully healed from using it in a nebulizer. He also is only eating a diet free of anything that turns to sugar in the body such as fruits, grains, dairy, and any other type of sweetener. He had been sent home on hospice and recovered quickly.
Rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar after bathing is helpful also.
I like a mixture of coconut oil and baking soda with rose water as a deodorant.
