Water getting stuck in your ear is a common occurrence for many, especially during summer. While it is a mild and just unpleasant condition to deal with, it may lead to irritation, infection or inflammation in your ear canal if not drained out immediately. The ear canal has wax that prevents any water from reaching deep inside of the ear, but sometimes it gets trapped inside the ear and creates discomfort for the person. Steps to follow:


To get water out of your ear, take advantage of gravity and move your head sideways to move the water inside. Then, bend your affected ear downwards, and ask someone to hit the other side with his or her palm. In most cases, water will come out with the power of gravity.

You may also apply pressure on the ear to let gravity take over. Press the side of your ear with your hand and then let go. Suction will probably pull the water out from your ear.

Pour some more water in your ear with a dropper, wait for 5 seconds, and then turn your ear down. The water will probably pour out and you will be relieved.

Steam is an easy way to pour out the water from your ear. Place steaming water in a bowl, cover yourself with a towel and inhale slowly. Take steam for 5-10 minutes. Tilt your head and let the water come out from the ear.
