Steps to follow:

If you have cancer, avoid chemical products such as dioxins, which can cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Before we list the foods you should eat if you have cancer, it is important for you to know you should avoid dioxin, as it is especially destructive to the body's cells.

Eat lots of raw vegetables, nuts and fruit. A diet of 80% fresh vegetables and juices, whole grains, seeds, nuts, almonds and just a little fruit help put the body into an alkaline environment. Only 20% can be from cooked foods, such as beans.

Drink lots of fresh vegetable juices. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach the cells just fifteen minutes after being consumed, nourishing them and helping to build more healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells, drink fresh vegetable juices (including alfalfa in almost all of them) and eat plenty of fresh vegetables two or three times a day.

Foods to avoid if you have cancer are coffee, tea and hot chocolate, which are high in caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties.

Avoid eating meat if you have cancer. The walls of cancer cells are covered by a very tough protein. If you avoid eating meat, these thick walls will release more enzymes which attack the protein in the cancer cells and enable the immune system to more effectively destroy cancer cells.

Consider taking supplements if you have cancer. Some supplements build up the immune system (Florescence, Essiac, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs (fish oil) to help cells fight and destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, the body's normal method of eliminating unnecessary or defective cells.

Try to reduce stress levels. Cancer is also a disease of the mind, body and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer patient battle the disease and become a true survivor. 'Anger, unforgivingness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment.' Learning to have a loving and positive outlook is very beneficial to health. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Exercise daily if you have cancer. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Drink purified water, or filtered water. Purifying water is advisable in order to avoid consuming toxins and heavy metals found in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, you should avoid it.

This is a short list of what to eat if you have cancer, of course circumstances vary, so seek the help of a nutritionist.

I have breast cancer. Someone just told me that they heard eating salmon is very bad for you if you have cancer.

Hi Marion,

There are some inconclusive studies which suggest salmon and other fish may help reduce the possibility of breast cancer. We have not heard of it making it worse, but you should discus with your physician if at all unsure. We wish you all the best in your treatment!
