Steps to follow:

First, note that flatus, the point of transient abdominal pain, is characterized by sudden stitches in the side abdomen that sometimes occurs when doing sports or exercising. Though still in debate, many experts say it's due to solid or liquid intake before or during sporting practice.

Likewise, medical experts say that the fact is that flatus doesn't actually affect your health. Although sometimes it forces you to reduce the level or intensity of a physical activity.

To try to combat flatus or stitches, it's recommended to breathe deep cleansing breaths or use abdominal breathing. Put pressure directly on the affected area applying two fingers vertically.

Also, another way to counteract transient abdominal pain is to manipulate the abdominal area. You can apply pressure to the affected area or do stretches that increase the tension of the abdominal muscles. Put your right hand up and stretch towards the opposite side of the stitch.

The intake of fluids before and during exercise, running or other sports, should also be monitored to prevent stitches. Thus, those most prone to stitches should refrain from consuming juices and drinks that are high in carbohydrates, before and during exercise.

Drink more water during the day and don't refrain from exercise, the more often you exercise, the smaller the chance of getting a side stitch.
