When you have cut the leaves, remove the lateral spines and leave them to soak in water for a whole day. You should change the water every three hours so that the aloe vera leaves expel all of the toxic resin, aloin.

After 24 hours, remove the leaves from the water to peel them. To remove the pulp you must cut the leaf with a knife from one side to the other. Open it and, using a spoon, extract all the gel and set aside in a high rimmed container. Try to scrape the pulp as much as possible, until you see the shell of the aloe vera leaf .
