This is dangerous for human health, as breathing polluted air can lead to lung diseases and other illnesses in the short and long term. However, there are different types of masks, depending on the level of pollution that you find on the air. The nose clip works well because it closes the nostrils shut and keeps the air pollution out of your nose and lungs. You won't have to be exposed to the air pollution or terrible odors in the air with this mask. They are sold in an assortment of colors and patterns and are machine washable. They can last for years if taken care of properly.
Totobobo
Totobobo is one of the most popular and reusable masks on the market. They were created in Singapore and are made in sizes for children and adults. These masks are comfortable, but they are made of plastic, which has been known to leave marks on the skin. The straps of this mask can do around the ears or the entire head. If you are trying to get a better fit, the ends can be cut off of the front. These masks have white filters on the inside of them and can be replaced very easily. These filters help to keep the person wearing it from the odors of air pollution. These masks can last for many years if they are taken care of and the filters are changed out frequently.

The I Can Breathe! mask comes from the United States and comes in many different styles and colors. It is made of a very comfortable mesh fabric and the straps are adjustable for a better level of comfort. These straps go around the ears and the mask will not leave marks on the face. This mask also has a filter that can be changed out when needed. They do not make children's sizes in these masks, but they can last for quite a long time if the filter is changed and they are washed properly.
Surgical facemasks
Many pictures of China's smog show people wearing surgical facemasks. Of course these are cheaper than any other mask but have no effect whatsoever on air pollution. They don't have any sort of filter, therefore they don't protect against pollution.
