For breakfast or as a snack between meals you can drink juice to take the edge of your hunger. Even if you can not chew you can drink these without issues with the help of a straw.

Ice creams

Cold foods will be beneficial for cases where you can not chew due to oral surgery, i.e. you have had a tooth removed, etc. The cold will help relieve pain and reduce swelling so ice cream will be a good choice in these cases, but always in moderation as it is rich in sugars.

Choose ice creams that do not contain 'bits' or those coated with some other hard food, such as chocolate or cookie flavoured, as you will be unable to chew this. Homemade ice creams will be best, so here we share some recipes with you:

  • Cinnamon ice cream
  • Banana ice cream
  • Orange mousse

Soft foods

As your condition improves and you mouth starts to feel better but you are still unable to chew a lot you will start to incorporate some soft foods into your diet. At this point you can try to eat:

  • Yoghurt and custard puddings
  • Biscuits soaked in milk
  • Jellies
  • Cream cheeses
  • Soft bread
  • Shredded chicken
