Your doctor will recommend a 25 hydroxy-vitamin D blood test, especially if you stay indoors, if you have dark skin or if you have risk of osteoporosis. If you are overweight, you should lose some weight to increase absorption of vitamin D supplement in your body. You can lose weight by making healthy food choices, and exercising regularly.
