Walk: When you walk very quickly, around 7.5 km per hour (4.1 mi/h), you can burn up to 440 calories. If you walk a little slower, at 6 km per hour (3.1 mi/h), this number is reduced to 360 calories. Those who walk more calmly, about 4.8 km per hour (2.1 mi/h), will burn a total of 300 calories. And for those who walk slowly, between 1.5 and 3 km per hour (0.5 and 1.1 m/h), you will burn no less than 130.

We should note that not everyone needs to burn or consume the same amount of calories daily; it depends on age and on the exercise.


You can burn 207 calories per hour by washing your dog. And if you take them for a walk it's 177. This is much less than washing the car, which burns 300 calories.

  • Reading for one hour will burn 60 calories
  • Even driving you burn 124 calories per hour
